Today was a service project with our stake, and the City of Mesa, and everyone and their cat's goldfish's cousin showed up!!! What was it, 1,500 people? C'mon, help me out here! So... lotsa peeps. We got to go to the park of canals to paint the wall. Fun, fun! We got all set up and started right of at a brisk pace. Slapping paint on the walls, splashing it on ourselves every now and then, having a good time. Then halfway through... "STOP PAINTING!!!! WE HAVE THE WRONG COLOR." Ahem... did I hear that right? Do I have paint in my ear? Nope. Got that one crystal clear. So we go over our paint with a lighter gray color. Halfway through though... "STOP PAINTING!!! WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH GRAY. WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE BROWN." I'm sorry- WHAT?! Yep, no paint in the ear. It's all true. * sigh * So we start once again with the painting. At this point, I'm waiting for them to change their minds again and make it neon green. Sheesh. Then I guess we all got bored, because we started painting our hands and slapping each others shirts with them. Don't worry, the city provided awesome free shirts. So it wasn't a big deal. I got some nice hand prints from certain people (hem, hem...) on my butt. Don't be grossed out! This is my blog, and you agreed to read it. So put up with the gory details. But it was such fun. I'm totally doing it next year. That is, if they do it next year.
